Through her video blog, Monique aims to show her viewers the logistics behind promoting her first single. She plans on posting footage from studio sessions, performances and more. As stated in her blog, “after working at a label for five years, it’s time to put what I learned to use”. The challenge here is to record 3 radio/club friendly songs, and work a single until it gets a spin on the radio. Feedback has been incredible, although she’s only one post in. Be sure to tune in as this blog will provide incredible insight to all audiences, including aspiring artists and musicians alike, about the industry behind the scenes. The blog will also reveal the true legwork behind promoting an artist, and the sacrifices it takes. It’s more of a personal and intimate look into this extremely talented artist’s journey. Many love the concept, and you have to admit it’s innovative.

CLAP COGNAC PERFORMING AT BRM presents “Not Without A Fight” 5/20/10

BRM presents “Not Without A Fight”: A series of benefit shows to save Beyond Race Magazine New York, NY – After nearly five years of showcasing groundbreaking and emerging talent in music andlifestyle, Beyond Race Magazine (BRM) is on the verge of shutting down operations. “The economiclandscape in the magazine publishing area is slowly repairing itself, but not enough to support thelongevity of a nationally distributed publication,” said David Terra, Publisher of BRM. With continued cuts to print advertising and limitations due to a lack of consistent revenue, BRM is poised to followalong the lines of other publications that have had to reinvent themselves in order to continueoperating. One last chance at saving the magazine in its current form is its audience and followers.

BRM has launched a fundraising campaign through it’s website (http://www.beyondrace.com/) and will be hosting aseries of benefit concerts called “Not Without A Fight.” All shows will be during the week of May 17 at Santos Party House in Manhattan, New York with the goal of “keeping the doors open” by hopefullyraising enough money for BRM to continue operating.
